One of my most anticipated releases for 1997 is the Enhanced Dr. Octagon
Project. The CD features technology developed by Turntable Media and music
performed by the original Octagon trio of Keith, DJ Q-Bert, and Automator.
The Interactive Interface of the CD-Rom is excellent. The opening screen
features a human body with a movable X-Ray machine. With your mouse you
can run that X-Ray over different sections of the body. Throughout the body
there are different hotspots which take you to the other sections of the
CD.
Q-Bert's section contains video footage, from the X-Men vs. Skratchpiklz
battle, of his famous single-turntable Rock The Bells routine.

Kool Keith's Dating Service features Keith dressed up as his different
personality's speaking on video about who and what they are. This section
also features detailed bio's of all the personality's. Characters who we
encounter here are Shark Man, Willie Biggs, Sinister 6000, Reverend Tom
and hygenic new-comer Clean Man.

In Automator's section we find information on Automator, the equipment he
uses, and his production notes.
The main feature of the CD is a film clip for Blue Flowers which is an
extremely high quality production. The effects and flow of the clip are
superior.

Another dope feature of the CD is the VertaBreaks Surgical Beat Mixer.
With your mouse you run a needle over diffrent sections of a vertabre.
Inside each section of the vertabre is a pre-programmed sample from the
Ocatgon CD. You can import different samples off the CD or your own (AIFF
format) into each of the four designated areas.

The music section of the CD contains remixes of Technical Difficulties and
Blue Flowers. The new tracks on the CD are Real Raw, "...With yellow eyes
/my green face/my pink and white afro/I'm no toy kid/your style is made
by Hasbro". The beat is a typical production by Automator with Q-Bert
cutting up the sample "get crazy retarded".

1977, the most impressive track on the CD sees Keith take us back to the
old school "...Bustin flavours/more rap styles than life savors/damage kids
with suits/with champagne and fake aligators/I'm for the repercussion/my
style is bumrushin/mc's get back/that black brother sound wack". The
production on this track is real old school and dusty sounding. Also
featured on the CD is Half Shark Aligator Man which was a track previously
hidden at the end of the first CD.

There are 14 tracks from Ecologyst on the CD (the sequence has been
re-arranged.) A couple of tracks have also been changed or re-arranged
slightly.
There is a lot more on the CD but I will not spoil it for you all. Make
sure you pick up a copy when it comes out and check it out for yourself.
The official release date will be posted here, so keep on checking.
I also got the new Beastie Boy's Interactive CD/CD-Rom which is titled
Don't Mosh in the Ramen Shop. A review of this CD would take up 10 pages
bacause it's jam packed with some seriously Ill stuff... maybe next time!
